On Thursday, March 20th, a small group of young foodies gathered at the Falstaff Family Centre in Stratford to talk and prepare FOOD.

Liz Mountain, Slow Food Perth County’s Youth Chair, coordinated this gathering so that a core group of young, engaged individuals could talk about all the great opportunities that exist for youth to take control of their food system and affect positive change. After discussing favourite homemade meals and reviewing some information contained in the handout, the kids made pasta from scratch and enjoyed it with homemade tomato sauce and sunflower sprouts.

Below are a few pictures from the event. The group will continue to expand, as more youth get involved. If your child(ren) would be interested in joining this fun group, a group that will make a lasting impact on our community and the way we think about and consumer food, please contact Liz Mountain for more information.
